DM-DaHood

Welcome to da hood! Da Hood is a deathmatch/team deathmatch map for UnrealTournament. It's placed in a realistic setting. You'll have the most fun with a realistic mod like Infiltration. In creating DaHood we've tried to bring to you a large area for real combat with a great sense of balance between sniping and close combat. For hardcore snipers there are some good hideouts with a view to key places in the map while a well trained trooper will still be able to sneak up to the snipers and engage them on his own terms! All buildings can be entered, you'll have access to most roofs. There could be a gun pointing at you from any window...

In creating this map we were inspired by the game that brought us the best urban settings ever: Kingpin. So we have an arms store called Pawn'O'Matic. And of course we used a lot of home made creativity... a hotel, a warehouse, Ford 4x4, bar and a cinema! Small hallways have reverb effects so sounds like reloading your weapon or your footsteps on the ground will sound different.

A team deathmatch game is best played with about 16 players. One team starts in the hotel, while the other team starts in the warehouse. An optional third team will start throughout the entire hood! We find deathmatch to be nice with 3 players trying to track and hunt each other down.

Have fun playing and let us know what you think of it!

The ZIP-archive has folder information, so just unzip it to your unrealtournament directory. If this doesn't work, here are the correct locations for the files: You should be set up now. Start UnrealTournament or Infiltration and start a "practice session." Now select DM-DaHood and have fun!

Note from the authors

This map plays well on a typical PII 400Mhz system. Slower PC's may experience slowdowns in some parts of this map.
Yes, we know there are some BSP holes in DaHood. But believe us... it used to be far worse! Current holes can only be seen from certain places, from certain angles. They don't interfere with gameplay.
